Frederick Douglass (Monday - April 13, 2020)

LEARNING TARGET : I can  identify the role played by Frederick Douglass on the road to Civil War

DIRECTIONS:  Frederick Douglass escaped from slavery as a young man and went to the North. There he became a forceful antislavery speaker and leader in the abolition movement. He spoke so well that some people thought it was impossible that he ever could have been a slave. To convince them of the truth he wrote his autobiography, which became a worldwide bestseller.

Before reading the excerpt from his autobiography, meet Frederick Douglass in the excellent video linked below. Then, answer the questions in the quiz while enjoying the beautiful portraits included of this iconic American hero. Good Luck!
